
Brigitta Winkler lives in New York and Berlin and has taught tango for over fourteen years. A master of multiple styles, she has co-taught milonguero workshops with Cacho Dante and partnered with Gustavo Naveira at classes in Berlin. Trained in ballet and modern dance, she discovered Argentine tango in 1980, and soon afterwards sought out the instruction of many masters in Buenos Aires. She is a frequent guest teacher at Dance Manhattan, and incorporates Body Mind Centering (which she studied in a four-year program with Bonnie Bainbridge-Cohen) into her interpretation of tango.
Hsueh-tze Lee, a North American pioneer of Argentine Tango since 1990, has taught throughout the United States and internationally. She draws inspiration from milongueros of Buenos Aires over 8 extended trips. Her dance blends the richness of tango tradition with exploratory possibilities.
Known for her innovative teaching, Hsueh-tze is recognized for developing dancers who are musically dynamic, creative and a joy to dance with.
Robin Thomas is the nation's most requested maestro of milonguero style, with an extremely clear teaching style, sincere social dance priorities and a disarming sense of humor. He has become a fixture on the teaching and DJing staff of America's most successful festivals.
Marika Landry is well known for her creative, improvisational style as well as her musicality and elegance. She has been focusing for several years on investigating the structural foundations of tango. Rejecting rigid sequences, her teaching aims to build students' improvisational skills, so that students make real progress and express themselves more freely.
Tom Stermitz' is especially effective at getting men to be confident, to feel the beat, and how to lead the intricate steps of tango. His approach to teaching tango is from the inside out, emphasizing improvisation, fundamentals, heart & soul, rhythm & music and especially the connection between the leader and follower.
Melinda Quiat comes to tango with years of professional ballet. She danced as a soloist for Colorado Ballet in numerous productions. She has spent time on the dance floors of Buenos Aires, dancing with the older, master dancers of the "milongas", developing her social tango skills. Melinda also assists Tom in his Denver classes.
